Background:
Illustrations and cartoons created for ARKET’s Artist Edition series. With so much hardship in the world today, it can be easy to become overwhelmed by turmoil and negativity. We wanted to create a children’s collection that embraced simplicity and focused on illustrations and themes that felt uplifting, mindful, tender, and forthright.

Inspired by educational cartoons and “Daily Tips For a Better Quality of Life,” a personal series exploring the juxtaposition between playful cartoons and serious, emotional concepts.

Strategy:
Cartoon illustrations have a way of turning complex, layered ideas and concepts into simple representations. Naturally, for a children’s collection, we wanted to convey concepts as nuanced and complex as self-love, advocating for our planet and the environment, and being kind to your neighbor into fun, bite-sized illustrations.
